Skimming และ Scanning เป็นเทคนิคการอ่านที่จะเข้ามาช่วยให้ทำข้อสอบ Reading ได้เร็วยิ่งขึ้น โดยหนึ่งในปัญหา
ที่หลายคนเจอเวลาทำข้อสอบพาร์ตนี้ คือการทำข้อสอบไม่ทัน เพราะบางครั้งเนื้อหาก็เยอะและยาวมาก ๆ

เทคนิค Skimming คือ การอ่านอย่างรวดเร็ว โดยอ่านข้ามบางคำ / ประโยค เพื่อหาใจความสำคัญของบทความ (Main idea) หรือรายละเอียดบางอย่างที่ต้องการหา เช่น บทความนี้เกี่ยวกับอะไร หรือพูดถึงใคร
วิธีการอ่านแบบ Skimming ทำอย่างไร ?
การอ่านแบบ Skimming สามารถทำตามได้ดังนี้เลยย
- อ่านชื่อเรื่องและหัวข้อต่าง ๆ
- อ่านประโยคแรกและประโยคสุดท้ายของแต่ละย่อหน้า รวมถึงย่อหน้าแรกและย่อหน้าสุดท้ายของบทความ
เพราะเป็นจุดที่มักพูดถึงใจความสำคัญ - ดูภาพในบทความเพื่อให้เข้าใจคร่าว ๆ ว่าบทความนี้เกี่ยวกับอะไร (ถ้ามีภาพประกอบ)
- สังเกตคำที่เป็นตัวหนา ตัวเอียง หรือตัวเลขในบทความ
- กวาดสายตาอ่านให้ทั่วทั้งบทความ เพื่อให้เห็นภาพรวม แต่ไม่แนะนำให้อ่านทุกคำ เพราะอาจทำให้เสียเวลาได้
เทคนิค Scanning คืออะไร ?
เทคนิค Scanning คือ การอ่านอย่างรวดเร็วเพื่อหาคำสำคัญ (Keyword) เช่น ตัวเลข, สถิติ, ชื่อคน, สถานที่
หรือรายละเอียดเฉพาะเจาะจงที่ต้องการ
วิธีการอ่านแบบ Scanning ทำอย่างไร ?
การอ่านแบบ Scanning สามารถทำตามได้ดังนี้เลยย
- อ่านโจทย์ก่อน แล้วค่อยกวาดสายตาให้ทั่วบทความอย่างรวดเร็วเพื่อหาคำที่ต้องการ
- อ่านชื่อเรื่องและหัวข้อ เพื่อช่วยให้เจอคำที่ค้นหาเร็วขึ้น
- หาตัวเลข คำที่ขึ้นต้นด้วยตัวพิมพ์ใหญ่ หรือศัพท์เทคนิคในบทความ
- เมื่อเจอคำที่ต้องการให้วงกลม ขีดเส้นใต้ หรือไฮไลต์คำนั้น
เทคนิค Skimming และ Scanning ต่างกันอย่างไร ?
เทคนิคการอ่านแบบ Skimming และ Scanning ต่างก็เป็นเทคนิคที่ใช้เพื่อการอ่านอย่างรวดเร็ว ซึ่งทั้ง 2 เทคนิคมีจุดแตกต่างกันตรงที่
- เทคนิค Skimming : ใช้หาใจความสำคัญ ภาพรวมแบบคร่าว ๆ มักใช้เมื่อคำถามต้องการหาใจความสำคัญ
หรือต้องการหาอารมณ์ ทัศนคติ วัตถุประสงค์ หรือเจตนาของผู้เขียน เป็นต้น - เทคนิค Scanning : ใช้หาคำสำคัญต่าง ๆ มักใช้เมื่อคำถามต้องการข้อมูลที่เฉพาะเจาะจง เช่น วันที่ เวลา ชื่อคน
หรือการถามความหมายของคำศัพท์จากการดูบริบท (Contextual meaning) เป็นต้น
